Struggling and sinking wishing someone would give you a hand
A wise man once said fall in love, it’s all you’ll ever need
And you fight back and ridicule it, until you finally concede
Because you assumed it referred to the love you find and marry
But he was referring to the one you yourself carry
The love that you are capable of but are unaware of its power
And is triggered by that one soul that you finally encounter
The soul that comes into your life who was sent from above
The one you can’t have and so will teach you collateral love
It’s the love that you give to secure another’s affection
The one that you unknowingly shower, when you believe to have struck a connection
But what If that love couldn’t be returned to you as you wished it would be
Its then when you are left with your collateral love, you see
