Dilwale are no longer dimagwale

I don’t think I have ever been this indecisive and confused in my life about something as I found myself to be, when I had to make a decision if I wanted to go for this Sharukh-Kajol disaster. But I felt so weird and somewhere even guilty I guess watching myself not booking tickets for my most favourite Jodi of all time. So, I gave in to my heart trumping my beautiful right mind. A very important lesson of life I have learnt this year, is never trump your mind for your heart. I preach it like a choir, but now I believe in it so much more than some of my strongest beliefs that it is number one on my list. Listen to your mind. Your heart is stupid as shit. Very wise words whoever came up with it.

It really does take a kind of special talent, pride, ego, stupidity along with lots of money, hype and of course Rohit Shetty to ruin what you have been believing as magic for the last 15 years of your life. You know how heart breaking- earth shattering it is to a kid when they find out that Santa Clause is not real? Now Imagine, Santa Clause, coming himself to you, stripping off that costume, the hair and that long white beard and revealing to you that he is indeed not real. How are you going to react? All you believed while growing up is taken in a second and there is no reason for you to keep up any hope because when you have seen the naked truth from your own eyes there is no way you will be able to see through the coloured glass anymore. And there shouldn’t be reason for you to continue on that road either.

I’m not even going to discuss the movie, the story line or what this once upon a time fabulous actors were thinking (or not thinking) while they signed this death warrant. All I can say is I let myself down because I allowed myself to go through the torture and did not have the will to walk out of another SRK film. It’s absolutely amazing how life comes around a full circle and yes, sometimes it’s an ugly one. Someone you looked up to for your whole life believing that he would be there to entertain you like nobody ever has, and who you defended and flaunted to the entire world as your favourite can actually lure you like this and betray your trust and belief, all over again.

It’s been great to know you Shahrukh. But it’s time to end this as the disappointments are coming in too often and larger in magnitude and it’s too much to take. You once said you never dreamt of being an actor but destiny brought you here. And I have never believed in destiny and its strange ways as much as I do now. Because if you really wanted to become an actor all your life you would not throw it all away and disrespect your dream for fame, stardom and lack of better judgement. Dilwale not only ruins my all time favourite go to movie DDLJ but also, Kuch Kuch hota hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, P S I love You, Love Actually; and I don’t even like Love Actually.

The story line has an integral part to it (apparently) that Sharukh’s character does not betray or toil with Kajol’s trust and feelings, falling in love with her with all his heart and soul. But SRK has taken advantage of the trust, belief, feelings and the unconditional love the audience has showered on him all these years and shown us that he does not deserve to be counted as one of the few good actors of all time because he can no longer handle being a star.

Thanks Rohit Shetty and Team, you’ve managed the impossible. Now I truly believe that nothing, absolutely nothing is impossible to achieve. If you have a vision to ruin the best romantic Jodi that Bollywood has ever had to offer, which was somehow kept sacred and intact all these years, you will achieve it with hardwork, perseverance, lots of cars flying around, exaggerated sound effects and above all convincing two brilliant actors that this is how they must reveal them to the current generation making the generation that grew up watching them feel embarrassed and ashamed.

It was not Sharukh and Kajol that were magic, it was their films. Sharukh and Kajol did not make DDLJ what it became. DDLJ made Sharukh and Kajol what they are. Were. And the stars in them today murdered the actors they were yesterday and officially destroyed what DESTINY had created for them.
