Scarred

Writer's picture: streakedgreystreakedgrey

There was once a star who shone bright in her light

The prettiest one around, she was unaware of her might

With a smile on her face and her heart up her sleeve

Scar guarded her love, a love someone someday, would receive

As she grew up, Scar believed less and less in love

It existed yes, but never enough to put a roof above

So she convinced herself that the magic word was compatibility

Knowing it was passion that she always desired, not suitability

And so, suitors lined up from far and beyond

Some with mansions having gardens that even had a pond

Each one showed his power, each one displayed his might

But not one ever asked what she loved, the sun, the moon or the midnight

Soon she realized that she was cursed

A form of spell that if she believed, could be reversed

But she found solace in the jinx, it set her free

It made her stronger and didn’t matter if people agree

Scar was ill starred apparently, her birth had assured

So her love and kindness didn’t matter until she was cured

But she knew her heart was pure even though her words were speared

It was her super power and didn't matter if it was scarred that she appeared.
