Those Three Words

You always know what to say, to make me feel this way

It’s those three beautiful words that take my breath away

Yes, those exact three words that you said to me this morning

‘I’ll be there’, and I smiled while you couldn’t stop yawning.

I know you love me and I love you too

But it’s something else I need, when I’m down with a flu

A bowl of soup, some tissue rolls and lots of care

Along with your ‘I’ll do it, you just sit in your chair!’

Don’t we all have doubts, doubts about what we can do

I for one have too many, some old, some brand new

You however, always seem sure that I can achieve all I want

Because when I’m unsure, ‘You’ve got this’ is your favorite chant.

Of all the things that you say to me, there is that one I absolutely adore

You said it when we climbed that mountain and when we just walked to the front store

It’s those three words from you, that don’t judge me or my chosen sins

When you tell me, ‘wherever you want to go Love, count me in’
